His take on SKG was just confirmation for him being exactly what I thought he was. Larping as pro-developer, reality is he's pro-status quo and pro-anti-customer because it benefits him directly. You want customers of products they spend factual money on to have dignity and any sense of ownership? Well we can't because uhhh.. think of the small indie devs! (that totally make the types of games that would be targeted by the initiative, always online exploitative live service AAA slop) Gross. Non-sense.

I’d honestly say YIIK has more value as a game simply because it works as an interesting case study on game development gone wrong, and even if it’s just because of the memes surrounding some of the game’s more memorably shitty moments, it had more impact than Heartbound ever will.
Say what you want about Andrew “My mistake was thinking video games are art” Allanson, but he and his brother actually released their quirky indie RPG and are still improving it. Meanwhile Heartbound’s biggest achievements are being a glorified screensaver for Jason’s streams, and making Toby Fox get mad at Matpat that one time.
I think Yiik is pretty mysterious. There's something captivating about that trash fire of a game and it has captured something in the mind of many gamers. The many hour long video essays about it is a testament to that. Even the thread here on the farm about it has quite a lot of posts. I can't put exactly what it is but it occupies a lot of mind space in people even with how bad the game was. Also to be clear the game is bad bad. Not bad but this thing is good. No everything is bad and does not work. The best thing about the game is the potential it had and the desire people have to play a modern action rpg.

People still kinda care about that yiik update and remember the game's existence. Most people sentiment towards Heartbound seems to be: Oh I forgot it existed.

A shot in the dark most likely but I feel Yiik will be a very niche weird dirty pleasure trash fire game that people will play in 20+ years. Like in a wow I can't believe people made this back in the day this is so shit, funny and weird. Like mystery of the druids or I have no mouth and I must scream.

Heartbound will leave to trace.

You made me Yiik out with that post ngl.

Wish I would've found out about this thread sooner. I would always see his shorts on YT. I followed him on X and that's when I started to hate him. He either lied or didn't do any fucking research about the whole Helldivers 2 controversy, just so he could be on the side of fuck Sony. He was a complete asshole when I called him out on it.

That's an area I agree with him on tbh, most game developers are literal soydevs that shouldn't be going anywhere near the kernel least they brick peoples PC's. Microsoft seems to agree as now all kernel level applications are going to have to be sandboxed after the CrowdStrike disaster.

As you say DMA renders them useless anyway.
Oh don't get me wrong I will not install any video game that requests kernel level access onto my machine, but his point that it's "not at all a necessary evil" is completely wrong, and the logic he backs it up with is flawed (add the TNG-tier technobabble to baffle people who don't know what a code cave is). Tangentially, I'm sort of predicting that competitive gaming will move back toward consoles, where everything can be much more tightly controlled by the developers working with hardware manufacturers.

Here's a screenshot of his work experience so you can add it to the OP. I'm sure at some point he's going to try and alter timelines to cover his ass and the exaggerations (read: lies) he's told. Jason did Red Team Operations for 11 months out of 6.5 year stay. What did that Red Team Operation look like? Apparently h4xx0ring unencrypted RFID Badges and telling employees not to hold secure doors open for people. Wow!

"Freelancer" at age of 14 or is that 15? I would be embarrassed to keep that stuff on my cv...

Basically this, although some games have had undetectable cheats for over a year because of it, it'll still be the standard cat and mouse game. What happens when cheats evolve to run as a type 1 hypervisor? Ring 0 will be roughly as useful as Ring 3.

Very well put together OP. Gonna be honest though, IT dev turning out to be a furry that dates trannies is the least surprising thing here.

Nice rewrite fren. Where any of @nukebot s claims on the original thread verifiable or was it all bullshit. I am willing to believe he knew him in some capacity because of how much that nigga wrote for a brand new thread and account but most of it seemed like BS.

Edit: never mind Im retarded missed that part of OP

You should mention how he gamed the Youtube Short algorithm to get his shit takes on everyone's feed. As for the Second Life stuff, I actually keep in contact with some people who were around during the Woodbury days and can't recall them ever mentioning him.

a furry, of course he is a fucking furry :stress:
I should have posted about this earlier but I managed to find his current Furaffinity account. I found out he had an old Reddit account which he still uses and through a name search found him

His gallery only includes his old fursona. If the pfp is his new one then it's a complete downgrade. For comparison, this is his old one

Also if you look at the bottom you can see his roommate and partner pooner, fishbones

Jason also has Duolingo, in which he's learning Russian and Irish for some reason

I found the levels of dishonesty he exhibited to be extremely disturbing.

“This greasy INCEL salesmen Ross wants poor African indie game devs to permanently pay for server upkeep or get sent to prison and get raped to death by NIGGERS. No you little entitled NIGGER ROSS, you don’t get to own the game IP and make money off it when the servers get shut down, which you want to do so bad and won’t stop talking about it.

Ugh he also mentioned that politicians like to look good. What a fucking disgusting thing to say, fuck this guy, I hope he dies of nigger aids, heil blizzard, heil my dad”

Unless he’s literally a retard, he did NOT think that’s what Ross meant. Players being able to host their own servers has existed as long as online gaming has existed. I can still play doom 2 multiplayer and it’s been like 700 years since it came out.

After he sperged about stopkillinggames, I've been looking at people's responses to his faggot's drivel on youtube.
This was a fun find
