It very well could be the other way around with Trump needing a VP who can handle foreign affairs while he focuses on the domestic gutting of the bureaucracy.

Any other president, I would probably agree, but Putin, Kim, Benji, Hamas et al, will want to deal with Trump, in person, because he did so right by them last time. They respect him and would see it as a snub if he didn't go himself. Just try and stop the guy.

Stop registering people to vote when they get drivers licenses. Require a separate process where you send in your birth certificate and/or U.S. passport.
Hell, universal voter ID laws where only state or federal issued photo IDs are accepted would work. No library cards, no university IDs, it must be issued by a competent state or federal authority.

If you're not a citizen, put 'THE HOLDER OF THIS IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENT IS NOT A UNITED STATES CITIZEN' on the back AND have a special marking on the front to indicate as such. Altering the identification document or misrepresenting yourself is subject to automatic deportation.

I don't understand why this is so fucking complicated. If you're an adult of voting age and for some reason can't procure an identification document, you don't have your life together nearly enough to vote. Period. Full stop. Get your shit together. Get rid of the poll tax argument by giving them away for free if $5-$25 or whatever is going to bankrupt you.

No matter what you come up with, they will create more and more outrageous edge cases to justify having no control. Just like with abortion, where no matter how airtight you think the compromise is they will come out and pull a "but what if a 13yo girl doesn't know what sex is and was impregnated by her forced husband in a remote cult and only has a few hours in civilization when she is 7 months along to try and stop it and she can't speak to the police or law and-" type of bullshit.

They don't want voter ID at all. They simply don't. They want no compromise or deal, it cannot exist because if it exists it makes fraud hard.
