I actually wonder if the Redo of Healer shit came from somebody like Vito. Based on the description, it seems like a show Vito would like (and Digibro, for that matter).

I largely stopped watching anime a year or two ago, so I have no idea what's popular these days, but I don't think that's an anime that "casuals" just pick up. It seems like something you have to be specifically directed towards.

Redo of Healer is an entry is a recently semi-popular yet still kind of niche subgenre in Japan that's trying to decontruct/subvert other genres to get attention. I don't know the name of it. Basically it's edgelord shit, the genre.

Whereas most of these other stereotypical Japanese comic and cartoon plots are like "I was thrown into another world" / "I was fired by the hero because he's a selfish idiot who looks kinda like a generic Japanese company manager" / "I got sent back to high school to try not to be a fuckup this time" + "but I'm Japanese so I'll be a stoic worker drone with great business professionalism and immaculate work ethic the entire time and this will win the day," this subgenre rips that last bit out. So you have "I was sent back 15 years into high school... and this time I'm gonna target all the emotionally vulnerable chicks I know about" or "The hero fired me from the party... so I'm going to sabotage the quest to save the world out of spite." That sort of deal.

I don't think anyone thinks about it now, but when it was running as a cartoon, I did have some normies reach out to me about it.

I am not who your replying to but you can't look at state wide averages for rent/home values because NYC with its 1000's of million dollar apartments completely fucks the numbers. And AI isn't going to understand that because the rich/poor divide in NY is way outside the norm.

Those poverty rates are getting up to Detroit levels there. And higher then Chicago's 17%. Once you get north west of Albany it gets to be really shitty, really fast. Real dead end, no hope, rust belt vibes. And the median home sales price in the USA is $420,800 as of the first quarter of 2024.

You can get houses for $150k in upstate NY.


And unlike the rest of the USA there are actually homes in upstate sitting on the market because

NY is a very business hostile, tax heavy state. So unless your a hedge fund or some other wallstreet connected industry in NYC it makes zero sense to stay there.
