I think it just shows that absolute lack of oversight. We saw this with The Last Jedi, the round head was allowed to do whatever he wanted. Kathleen empowered him to not take any input from anyone. I suspect this has been the case with everything. Only when things get too lost have they stepped in. Rogue One major reshoots. The Solo debarkle and then I think they just gave up. Being on TV means they give less of a shit. The lucked out with the first two seasons of The Mandalorian. Everything else has been a disaster.
Now they're claiming daddy Filoni didn't stop them when he probably was not empowered to and too drunk to give a shit. I can't be the only one that thinks he has major alcoholic vibes. That's a side point.

It's kind of a weird place to speculate. On one hand the writers and producers have shown themselves to be so incompetent and inept. There's no point trying to ascribe meaning to Ki-Adi-Mundi being in the show. On the other hand we're wondering if it's some explanation for trying to explain why there are "not Sith" in the show and not contradicting his lines and the story of the original films.
While I can sit here and think they chose to put him in, change his cannon/lore as a way to get around his line in TPM. As these won't be Sith. Even though they are the same. The same way Kylo and Snoke were not meant to be Sith. Even though they were being lead by Sith Occultists and fucking Palpatine. Whatever nonsense the sequels ended up being. I honestly think the most likely explanation is they're just retarded and grabbed a guy from the prequels and shoved him in here.

Dave totally would've said okay to it, since he only gives a shit about the small selection of characters he likes and his OCs, and he doesn't ever bother thinking about things like lifespans and so on. He has zombie characters that should be dead from old age, so it's plausible.
So while they're trying every excuse to avoid an L, this is actually a good excuse IMO. Still totally their fault honestly, but it's actually a good lie.
Oh, and as for the racist comments, you can totally just show them. If you don't it's because they're so small or insignificant you have to search for them. Either that or they just made up accounts, like they did the last time.

this is 100% what happened. the writer just googled episode one council members besides Yoda to tie it in very mildly to the prequels and just happened to pick the worst choice of who would be alive outside of Mace Windu. should have done Yaddle we know she was alive. Oh well really it's too stupid to waste time actually speculating on any of this crap.

Modern writing is at the point where continuity simply doesn't exist anywhere. It's not just inconsistency from show to show or movie to movie. It's contradiction from episode to episode or sometimes even within an episode. Where characters are behaving wildly erratically from one scene to other and even within the same sentence or breath. Everything is happenstance and happens on a whim. Characters do not need agency anymore.
It's like the "rule of cool" but the "rule of retarded" instead.

maybe if they edited the legends article too because obviously that shouldn't be changed over the show, but in the instance of changing Ki Adi's birthdate, blame the retards writing the show, not the retards who catalog the lore.

If this leads to a new Wiki site I'm all for it. As someone who likes the series I shouldn't have to make my own wiki so I don't have to worry about some Redditor changing shit to suit their woke agenda. In terms sending the franchise off to die, I suppose it technically is his fault. But all things considered at this point, I'd say George Lucas is the smart one in the midst of all this. While Disney is saddled with God knows how much debt, I'll bet George is laughing his ass off up in Skywalker Ranch, receiving gradual vindication for the Prequels and sitting pretty on a $4 Billion horde of plunder.
