Two things here, the first being that Aaron Imholte is the only person in this situation who's able to talk about what happened and the second is that he kicked Nick out of his house when he saw Balldo bringing drugs and shit around his kids. So in my eyes, Imholte's credibility "approaching negative infinity" is still higher than Nick's.

From a purely legal perspective, they're doing what you would want your lawyer to do for you if you were accused of a crime. But they're not Nick's lawyers, and they don't really know the depth of Nick's degeneracy. A lot of people would be less angry with them if they front-loaded their analyses by condemning Nick's neglect of his household, his use of substances around his children, and his poor conduct as a husband.
