What would the Hitler particle be? Would it be a boson too? A quark? Some kind of mutant photon? Perhaps a zyklon.

Those people at the Large Hardon Collider should get to work on this.
 
"Hitler Particles" is a reference to a communist idea by none other than Leon "Icepick Magnet" Trotsky on a essay of his where he copes and seethes about why Germany didn't turn into a glorious communist utopia 1919 and then subsequently after the chaotic 1920s of the Weimar Republic they eventually got Hitler along with kvetching about why the rest of Europe's proletariat didn't just spontaneously rise up to join the Bolsheviks in a revolutionary wave, and why Mussonili did so much better growing Italy with his fascist revisionism of marxist ideals than the USSR did growing from Russian monarchism.

The origin is the quote "Not every exasperated petty bourgeois could have become Hitler, but a particle of Hitler is lodged in every exasperated petty bourgeois." From the essay What is National Socialism? and is basically just another commie dogwhistle about damn dirty non-commies refusing to comply with communist doctrine.
 
The funny thing is, Lemmy is an ultra-woke project. For a long time, it was packaged with a hard-coded "slur filter" that would disallow any "racist"/"sexist"/etc. words the project author did not like, and which not even instance admins could override.

I'll have to think about this. Hard-coding it means I don't have to do a database migration every time someone comes up with a new slur. And putting it in a DB table means someone could very easily remove it by deleting every row of that table, which isn't good. I want to make it very difficult for racist trolls to use the most updated version of Lemmy.

Is this not clear enough? Slurs are against our code of conduct and the goals of this project. Go to voat or gab if you want to use racist or sexist slurs; we don't allow them here.

The maintainers only finally relented because the filter (which became a giant regex) was producing an enormous number of false positives, particularly in non-English languages where banned sequences of letters arise innocuously. Among the many examples of censored words were "smartwatch" ("twat") and the common German word "weniger". It was the Scunthorpe problem on steroids.

I too miss Super Collie. Rozzy I could never figure out if they were unironic or very VERY ironic. Guess we found out it's the former.

There were signs. Gazing into the Furry Abyss since the 90s I could tell dude got too much of the act very authentic.
