💤 Inactive Andrew Dobson / Tom Preston / CattyN - STOP DOING SEXIST CRAP

....well, it was only a matter of time before we got to this point.

God, the fucking entitlement of this thirsty lesbian fetishist. Yes, the only reason any given female character is not a lesbian is because Disney is catering to fundamentals. If only western society were more progressive, then you could furiously fap to the idea of Elsa and Anna scissoring, without any doubts of the canonicity of your fantasy that might kill your greasy boner. Destigmatizing gays my ass.

He makes it sound as if the Western World was like the Middle East, with gays being stoned to death and hung from the next tree. I bet he doesn't even know a single gay person in real life, no matter how hard he wants to know a lesbian.

And the only reason why Luke Cage is crashing Netflix, is because Daredevil and Jessica Jones are pretty awesome shows.

Dob's brother is gay, afaik. Which makes it all the more hilarious when you realize that Dobbrother has no issues with his family while Andrew claims he's in conflict with them over his progressive views.

Also, concerning your first paragraph: Dobson is one of those people that cry bitch tears when a homo- or transexual character dies in a show. To people like him, killing off such a character is a hatecrime tantamount to murder.

funny enough, he doesn't even watch most of these shows and the gay bashing in AzP is also telling

1) Yeah, make Elsa homosexual and attracted to her sister! That's not creepy at fucking all.
2) The demographic that's waiting for homosexual couples in mainstream media aren't homosexuals. it's creeps like Dobson that want to get turned on by implied sex or softcore nudity.

That's the thing the tumblrinas aren't getting. No matter how much they demand gay characters, it still doesn't mean Big Macintosh is gonna bang Braeburn in full Flash color come Sunday morning.

Besides, these fuckers always want what they don't have. They demand "people of color" characters (read, black) but when given them do their best to ignore their existence. Same with gay characters... they'd rather write about the straight characters turning gay. Some audiences always simply want whatever it was they weren't given, and resent or ignore what they were given.

not to forget, of what importance would the sexuality be? At least in a freaking kids cartoon.
Lets be honest here: Would more characters of a certain color, ethnicity or sexualit be good in general? Probably. But here is also the context:

1. Just because you put more black characters into the media, won't suddenly change the racism on the street. Certain black people won't suddenly stop being low life criminals because now they get more Bill cosby-esque dads on tv to see (ignore the obvious rape joke) and white supremacists won't stop their own shit because they suddenly have an epiphany that blacks/spanish whatsoever are awesome, because Seth McFarlane's latest comedy tells them so.

2. If you write the characters as stereotypes in any way or form, you won't help anyone. Example: Anything by the Wayan's brothers. You also have to give a damn about the characters being interesting in contxt of a story. And when all there is to the characters is their sexuality, you limit yourself not just in storytelling, but also admit that you can't as a writer look beyond who fucks who in what hole.

And that doesn't even tackle the fact that stories about race and sexuality are in general something for a more adult audience to watch and not for little kids, who may not give a fuck about it because it is adult stuff/they don't understand it/they want to be entertained and not lectured by Captain Planet 2.0.

I at least never heard a five year old being offended that everyone in Aladdin is white. That was always a problem of some pissed off 20 something and older.

Dobson wants little kids to consider gay people as normal? Then don't make a big deal of someone being gay or not.

Seriously, I think Dobson is acting the way he does not because he is pro-gay. I just think he tries to cover up for his own homophobic tendencies by overcompensating through political correctness.

Additionally, how would a lesbian princess in a Disney movie work?
"Lol, I'm homo btw" out of the blue, followed by handholding and a kiss?
The entire topic comes with its own fucking backagetrain of problems and issues.

If you'd put a lesbian character in a kids movie, I just don't see how this could be put into it without making it the focal point of the entire plot. You can't just throw something like that at children and it's kind of a "doomed if you do, doomed if you don't" situation.

If they just throw in lesbianism randomly and spend no time showing how a lesbian character might have to struggle to come to terms with their own orientation, it takes away from the turmoil and troubles these people actually face before coming out - and the whole thing just lacks any impact or meaning.

If it centres around those problems, it will eventually turn into heavyhanded social commentary that has no place in a whimsical fairytale or a lighthearted comedy and would distract from it.

Dobson has expressed that he dislikes it when characters go through hardships, he just wants to watch them frolic without anything bad ever happening to them or any bad person interrupting their fun. So, no wonder he's not giving this any thought and blindly demands it despite it being a really delicate topic that is hard to pull off. LoK was intended for a somewhat older demographic than most Disney movies and they didn't bother to put in any homo-romance afaik, it was just a random disclaimer at the end of the last episode that Korra and Asami are, indeed, romantically involved.

I would never for a second believe that it's damaging to kids to have homosexual characters some way or the other (especially when this is done in a dignified manner), but that doesn't make it easy to pull off. If anything, that just makes it harder.
And that's not even addressing how pretty much noone gives a shit about this, either. I doubt even most homosexuals would give much of a crap about a gay prince or lesbian princess.

I do not understand the fetishization of homosexuals, especially so much as so demand that mainstream media include them in everything when the majority of the content is not sexual in nature.

Dobbo does not care about realism. He just wants lesbian princess fap material, he wants it canon and he wants it now now now!

They don't just demand homosexual characters, they also get outraged when these characters have even the slightest bit of a flaw and when something bad happens to said character, they scream bloody murder.

It's weird, they genuinely demand a carboard cutout of a character that has no impact on anything (lest said character has to endure harships!) and is just there to "spread awareness" - as if the average Joe on the street didn't know homo- or transexuals existed.

I get the representation angle to some degree. It's easy to dismiss it and I know I sound dangerously SJW-y now, but if you're white and/or straight, you have no shortage of characters to relate to in western media. Being different can be hard and seeing a character who is different in the same way as you, but also strong, capable and loved by the audience can help some people feel better about themselves.

However, Dobson is just propping these people up to satiate his own thirst for teenage lesbians. "Oh those poor teenage lesbians!", he pants while awkwardly hiding his boner. "Who can they relate to in modern media? The only possible solution is to make Elsa from Frozen (tm) a lesbian! With big tits and a nice ass!"

Dobson pushes for the annoying kind of representation, the Marvel way, to change established characters instead of making new and original ones. The kind of representation that goes on everyone's tits and that's hurting the cause of people who actually could use a little honest, non-pandering representation.

He's a self-righteous, egotistical neckbeard and probably has one of the lowest motives for his "activism" possible.

I'll start taking the ELSA IS GAY DEAL WITH IT people seriously when they can offer evidence that isn't based around incest.
That's another creepy thing. These people aren't demanding that characters from dark souls or the boondocks or Berserk or anything for adults. These people only demand this representation for children's stuff, like Adventure time or gravity falls, where the characters are often underage. Its shows both a very immature and very creepy pedophilic side to grown adults who should know better.
Dobson is no exception
