Nah, me and some of my bros back in middle school circa mid-00s wore them. I'm sure there was an arcane distinction I've since forgotten that only cool kids like us knew about what separated our cool belts from the gay emo kid belts to the girl belts.

IIRC I stopped wearing the belt because the studs had a habit of falling off. Wonder if that would be a problem for Nick since he appears to own the same belt I did. But then again, Nick thinks expensive = good, so he wouldn't wear a pleb studded belt like we did, his must cost 200 dollars.
