Feet are taboo. Feet are considered unclean, bc they're routinely in contact with the dirt and bc in some cultures feet/the lower half of the body are sometimes substitute terms/referents for the genitals (like the phrase 'suck my big fat toe'). So to have anything to do with feet is either just gross/insulting/degrading (think of Nader having Chantal kiss his feet or that reporter who threw his shoe at George W.
