I'm guessing it aims to revert a change made to "help everyone see themselves in Minecraft [and] better reflect our community" which added new default skins and updated the old ones slightly (they made Steve browner? Can't really tell). I haven't played since beta times, so I'm not 100% certain, just going off the wiki.

They equipped him with some Urban Meat and changed his name to Tyrique. Minecraft Tyrique. He periodically mutters "sheeeeeeeiiiit....", smacks his gums, and says "I AINT EVEN DID SHIT" whenever a creeper approaches.
