Based solely on his on air conduct, Nick's drinking has escalated since around last spring, and I'm guessing that a significant amount of his time is spent either being drunk and lashing out in various ways that make him feel good in the moment or cleaning up drunken lashing out that he did before. That's why it didn't surprise me in the slightest that this latest conversation took place at midnight Central, or indeed any time between, say, 10pm and 8-9 am. The bulk of what we've discussed in the thread has been when it happens on stream but there's no reason to expect that the seething verging to anger starts and stops on air. And it's been about various people and things at various times, not just about KF.Again, I am forced to assume this is his gambit, and he wanted moderation actions without asking for it, because he knows he can't ask for it as that is a liability if it were screencapped and shared. And since we never had a "meeting of the minds" on this, now he's going to warp it the other way and make it sound like I was offering and he declined, when the reality is I was preemptively making sure he knew that was not on the table.
He has a victim narrative he has created in his head, but the problem both that he doesn't want to be seen as claiming victim status AND after nearly a year he still hasn't managed to come up with an argument he can present in public that he has been wronged in some way by you or even the thread. Or at least not one that's not nonsensical. He just has an extremely vague belief that anyone criticizing him must be both incorrect and malicious.
I think his ideal world would be one where his thread to went back to the way it was pre-November 2022, but I'm not sure the extent to which he has a concrete plan for how he thinks that could be accomplished.
Saying that Drexel was joking about the mother and daughter for years (lol) or that that story is old or meant to be a cautionary tale or whatever. or pulling "If I Did It" style discussions about travel destinations in DMs is absurd but ultimately harmless. So he tries to paint the thread as problematic. Saying there's life ruination and line crossing there when the thread is pretty tame. If he wants to see threads with a shitty hivemind he should look at the plagued threads.
He does not want to give usernames, posts or concrete example simply because he does not have any concrete justified example of crossing the line.
In his head, the thread is fog of negativity. Nothing solid to point out to.
But that was a cowardly, shameful smear which he decided to make in public. When challenged to provide evidence, he offered to talk in private (where presumably he would provide the evidence he was talking about) but he apparently backed down instead.
If I recall correctly, and it has been a few months, that claim initially came out of his discussion with Sean on one of the Friday "funstreams". If that's right then that's an instance where Nick has gotten drunk and said something that made him feel good and then had to row back on it when he sobered up.
The judge in the elevator is now the judge presiding over his defamation case with Montagraph, by the way. In case you wanted to know how that one ended up turning out for him.Man this is like the judge in the elevator thing all over again.
