I am honestly both baffled and horrified. I thought I’ve seen it all. These posts aren’t even anything I dug around for. Just three of the newest posts in the subreddit.

I think troons are experts in finding women who are not all there, that they then gaslight the shit out of. Insecure and needy so they can knock them up and then troon out.

Optimistically, most people commenting on Twitter are agreeing the original tweet was a legitimate question and that he shouldn't have apologized.

When arguing with troons and their handmaidens, Guy's biggest mistake would be mentioning that an actor can "play anyone outside ur own world". That will eventually bring up the debate of transgender vs transrace or transage because acting is playing pretend. Ultimately, the troon crowd will force you to accept that troons can play any part they want but not the other way around. Look at how they treated Scarlett Johansson or Halle Berry for potentially playing trans-identified females.

Speaking of which, I said this on the SJW thread, but the whole transrace double standard is still funny because in the gender vs race and acting debate, these people will say that "race" is "more" than physical appearance (i.e - tanning your skin). But when Disney and Cosby survivor Raven Symone rejected being called "African-American" or "gay", and wants to only be an "American", these people clowned her for "denying" reality. Or when "white-passing" biracial people like pop star Halsey identifies as a coloured women, Twatter/YouTube told her to STFU because she's not a kinky haired "POC"... So is your "race" entirely about your superficial physical appearance or not? By their own logic, it is, but they'll never give a rational answer.

It's funny though seeing many other countries not care about an actor's identity being a replica of the character they're playing. Lots of countries adapt plays from foreign sources, such as the Japs, the Dutch or the Mexicans and they'll get Japanese, Dutch or Mexican actors respectively to play the parts irrespective of being the "proper ethnicity".

I want to preface this with the fact that I already feel terrible about being so shallow! Seeking advice for how to approach these feelings and what to do with them.

Ok so. My sweet non-binary spouse (newly out) has in the last few months started expressing lots of interest in skirts. This is absolutely fine by me, I (cisf) hate wearing skirts myself but love the look, and I’m 100% wanting to be supportive.

The problem is that their taste in skirts is making me viscerally repulsed. They grew up presenting as male, so obviously had no embarrassing middle school femme fashion experimentation like I got to have, so I recognise that I have a leg up here and that this might just be a necessary phase while they develop their own taste.

BUT I’m struggling to hide / gently express my distaste in the mean time. I’m worried that either a) I’ll accidentally squash their confidence and hurt them b) this isn’t a phase and is actually representative of their taste, in which case I’m scared I won’t be able to be sexually attracted to them c) I express my feelings and end up accidentally controlling their taste entirely rather than letting them find their own, and they grow to resent me for it

If it helps to picture it- they are very tall, broad shouldered, narrow hipped, muscly, and seen by all as very classically handsome in a masculine way just based on body type alone. I suspect their main interest in skirts comes from frustration with being so constantly read “male”, which I understand and want to help with. Their taste so far has been very straight wooly librarian-y skirts with their normal t shirts or turtlenecks. The problem for me is that the tops don’t suit or complement, and that the cut of the skirt type does not flatter their legs, which are gorgeous and deserve better. They also wear their ratty Nike work trainers with them while they own a perfectly good pair of docs!!

I gave them a flowy white smocked midi with blue embroidery that I think looks amazing on them, but I could tell they weren’t as enthusiastic as me, which triggered these fears for me. I don’t want to be shallow, but also I’m afraid that it’ll mean the death of my attraction to them. I’ll always love them but I also want to be attracted to my partner!

What do I do??
