Now, I'm no expert on strokes and symptoms, but I'm pretty sure that a "crippling pain headache" in someone with a history of strokes is a massive red flag for "Your having another stroke right now". The fact he wasn't rushed to the ER tells me that probably wasn't it. So that leaves what, Neuropathic pain? Can that shit even heal? Do painkillers even have the ability to suppress it? I doubt ending up in an Opiod arc would even help at that point.
I can see it now. Its breakfast time, Jack once again gets floppy toast and 1 serving of eggs and cold oatmeal. He looks down at his plate and silently seethes as he reaches for his phone with his only working arm. As he attempts to use whatever brainpower he has left to make a semi coherent statement that he is angy he was served a Peruvian Middle Eastern childs portions and he is a big boy he feels something. A shooting pain in his head that throbs over and over. Perhaps a migrane or another incoming stroke? God is trying his damnest to get his message to Jack and all he can do is just think, "My head has a boo boo because no meat".
Neuropathic pain - I don't know much about it or its causes beyond "damage to the central nervous system", but apparently it can be really bad. I was also under the impression that nervous system damage doesn't tend to respond to painkillers - Blocking damaged tissue signaling or receptors on the nerves doesn't help when the nerves themselves are misfiring and causing the pain sensation. If there is something that works on it, Its exceedingly unlikely to be over the shelf, I doubt it could even be take-home in any capacity if its shutting down brain activity of any sort.
Neuropathy in the head exists; the trigeminal nerve in your face and your optic nerve can get irritated and make it feel like liquid fire or knives are being shoved into that region.
Opiate addiction arc ho! EDIT: Damn, Ninja'd. Let me say though that it's a new level of horrifying, the idea of having intense pain in your head after your fifth stroke, and all this asshole can think to do is complain. Fucker should be begging his god for forgiveness on destroying his own body.
Oh. Hunger pains and cheeseburger withdrawal. Okay that makes sense given who we're talking about. Although I'd say unless he's getting caffeine he might just be having a withdrawal headache from that and yes, they are blindingly painful.
Imagine he moves onto heroin because he can't get his pain meds anymore. That would be awesome especially that Hammy would have to cook and inject it for him.
Nerve pain? Sucks to him then because opioids don't do shit for that. All they do is at higher doses provide a kind of... dissociative effect like it's not your pain and you're just feeling it for somebody else and it takes your mind off of it. At best it reduces it from a "10" to maybe a 5. So in his case a 6 to a 3.
Occipital Neuralgia. It kinda sorta feels like a migraine but it isn't.
Specifically for nerve pain they'd need to use something like gabapentin or amitrptyline. Two things I don't think they can just prescribe.

No one is going to visit him because everyone knows how big a piece of shit Jack is. Tammy only seems to show up to drop off food and wheel him to the movies, and everyone else in his family hasnt even bothered. The only people who seem to deal with Jacks daily bullshit are those who are paid to do so and even their contempt for the man cant be hidden. Go back to any previous JOTG episodes where he has other people besides him and Tammy and you will either see them visibly uncomfortable or just throw into the void as the years go on because they cant be fucked to deal with Jack.
Because let's face it, a man who screams out fake orders to fuck with the random stranger ahead of them in line at the drive-thru is permanently unable to keep a friend who's not exactly as juvenile as he is.
