I'm going to go to bat for him here, but I don't think that's completely accurate.

Assuming you're talking about the race realism debate, you have to understand Race Realism is basically the "final boss" if you're anywhere left-of-center. If it's true, it fundamentally changes your entire worldview. That, combined with the fact that narratives around Race Realism are interlocking; they're informed by your opinions and analysis of things like segregation, slavery, colonialism, etc. Confronting all of this in real time isn't really doable for anybody. I've spent the better part of the last year researching population genetics and psychology just to have an informed opinion on race and IQ alone, let alone answer questions related to the ethics of voluntary segregation as it relates to history. I don't expect Destiny, who dedicates a large portion of his time to other topics (COVID, gender issues, and conspiracies as of recent) to be fully informed and ready to acquiesce everything he believes in just because he can't remember exactly why heritably =/= genetic causation.

You also have to remember that his priors are different than probably every user here. While his baseline assumption is that statements (even PR statements) made by academic institutions are, all else equal, trustworthy and accurate, everyone here takes the opposite view of reflexive skepticism (or in some cases ardent disbelief). It certainly doesn't help that Nick doesn't understand the actual arguments behind Race Realism even though his conclusions about it (IQ and behavioral differences existing) are correct. Taking all this into account it is not surprising that he reacts pretty vehemently to this stuff. His reaction to something completely contrary to his worldview is altogether mild compared to other left wing people on the internet.

That's why I don't take political streamers/video essayists seriously. I appreciate Destiny standing up to Vaush and just saying outright that all this anger towards Kyle Rittenhouse is just online retards wanting to punish conservatives and legitimize rioting at BLM protests through some dumb proxy fight, but in general when someone's income is tied to how palatable their views are to an online audience, and whether they're even allowed to have a platform depends on their ability to not piss off the most shrill and obnoxious people on social media, then it stands to reason that even if you don't disagree with what they're saying at the very least you're missing out on a more challenging point of view by listening to commentary coming from such a castrated environment.
