Ever read "the Pink Swastika"? It's been discredited, but if you look at the local culture in rural Austria, you realize there are a lot of down low dark triad gay men. They treat women like absolute dog shit. I wouldn't be surprised if troonism became popular there... tons of Thai ladyboy fans, and many of their gay politicians are already pushing troonism hard. They're already into robotics, transhumanism and eugenics as it is.

Why does the western side of the "Otherside Picnic" fandom have this type of hyper-focused troon? The story is a combination of scifi+japanese creepypasta+guns+lesbians (aka male otaku bait) and the JP fandom side is as expected mostly comprised of male otakus who fully understand that they are the intended audience. The JP+Asian fans mostly talk about the cute girls, world setting and mysteries, in contrast the western side have many "trans lesbians" and gender specials (probably male) that only circlejerks how uwu lesbian the characters are.
The characterizations are very weak, as with lots of scifi the winning aspect of the series is in its atmosphere and world building. It puzzles me that the weakest portion of the series is what these troons latches onto.
On the otaku topic I've alway found it interesting that Asian otakus rarely shy away from being frank about fetishizing gays/lesbians. There are heaps of fujoshi (women that likes BL) and yuridanshi (men that likes yuri) but they almost never troon out. Yet in the west in general the BL/yuri genres have spawned countless gaydens and troonbians.

Nah, not psyops. It's too insane. I could barely follow the story; too many characters and "plot lines". Truth is said to be stranger than fiction because fiction has to make sense.
