It's a question of exposure time too. There's an FTM trans person at my job, who to their credit has not made a big deal about it and is quite professional, at least in my incidental contacts with them. It was confirmed to me by someone in the know, but they're basically stealth to most people at work. Initially I didn't clock them as anything other than a short, somewhat effeminate dude. But the more meetings and interactions I had, the more obvious it became, subtle things like their body shape and face shape, their voice and mannerisms, all things that I wouldn't necessarily notice on just passing them in the street. Troons rely on online interactions as a cope because you can catfish forever there, whereas in real life, the more people spend time with them, the more obvious it will become that even the twinkiest MTF or butchest FTM isn't what they claim to be.
