Home IPL devices are not really suitable for male facial hair. Their effectiveness on body hair is also debatable. Same thing with epilators being unsuitable for male facial hair. I'd never risk using either device on my face. If you're really brave and desperate, maybe it would be worth the risk. Also laser/IPL only works on fair skin, dark hair. Dark facial hair starts to gray like wildfire once you're in your 30s. At least that's been my experience.

There really aren't any practical semi-permanent (e.g., waxing, epilating) or permanent DIY methods for male facial hair unless you got patchy or whispy facial hair. And tbf, most troons do seek out laser or elecrolysis early in their transitions. It's expensive and time consuming though. We're talking years and thousands of dollars before that shadow starts to disappear.

Because they transition and then they find out that actually taking care of yourself as a woman takes more time and effort and if they spent any time and effort on anything of worth they probably wouldn't be troons to begin with.
