Instead of some weirdo rape project or a cancelable radioactive cesspool nobody of note would ever touch, they could've leaned into what made Perry endearing in the first place. What made WCH great was that you feel bad for Perry until he starts acting like an asshole.

So I think the show would've worked even on mainstream cable networks if it was sort of like Candid Camera. With Kimmel as the producer, you pull talented people to make cameos and just record Perry and TB3 interacting with other celebs, plus the other Project characters Don has been cultivating. Perry lusting after famous women, Perry bigtiming the star of the latest Marvel movie, etc. The Perry segments would be batshit WCH-style vignettes with wraparound hosted by Don and Mole sounding reasonable, contrasted with gaslighting Perry in the segments.

That's why we liked the project in the first place. I don't want to see Perry getting humiliated on its own. I want Perry to be rude to Don, Mole, and some celebrities way bigger than him, then go through something humbling. More than the weirdness of PCL, that's what PCL and even some of the later podcast episodes were missing. WCH works because it's carrot and stick. PCL is all stick and no carrot.

But ain't gonna lie, the hot Amy hacking and Dan Aykroyd shit was pretty damned funny. Surely, those could be incorporated as well.

i recall hearing on last week's archive perry mentioning to a caller that he acts like he does because hes instructed to do so. ill edit this post with a time stamp when im back in the office and have 5 hours to kill and cpan put it on as background noise. idk if the remark was a slip up or just perry trying to be funny.
