Layla and Stevie Chronicles Continues
(Includes guest appearances from other irrelevant spoonies, and a bunch of text because my shitty writing is still more tolerable than Stevies incoherent British rumbling) Part 2
3/29: Two days without a real post so mum has to give us an update on Layla! They did a livestream yesterday during which Layla complained about hip pain and feeling like she was gonna pass out. So dad had to take her to some sort of doctor this morning where she was xrayed, they found that one hip looked different than the other but didn’t explain why and referred her to physio. (Madam you explained like five videos ago that your daughter was diagnosed with hip dysplasia as baby, couldn’t that be the reason she was in pain and the doctors not immediately doing something super invasive????)
Well she kinda mentions that Layla always had some problems with that hip and throws shade at the paediatrician who she thinks isn’t managing it.
Basically Layla had a few rough days with her struggling to stand, chest pains and a high heart rate. But today they finally had an appointment with geneticist (who Stevie likes for once), it was just a team call tho but the doctor suspects myasthenia gravis. Interestingly she mentions that they’ve seen this doctor for her brother before but quickly brush’s it off.
3/31: Stevie filming herself having a mental breakdown in her car
just what we needed. Dad chased up a cardiologist appointment while the paediatric cardiologist called and said that she can’t take Layla due to her being 16 and falling under adult cardiologist patient , however evil GP won’t treat Layla for POTS until it was confirmed or at least looked at by a cardiologist. Two halter monitors showed sinus tachycardia (of course she doesn’t mention the situation in which this occurred nor how long it lasted), and right now she has a resting heart rate around 100 bpm
and can barely stand up without passing out plus she’s super fatigued but that doesn’t matter to evil doctors. Also Layla missed her mock exams and they don’t know if she will make it to GCSEs.
One paediatrician mentioned she could have POTS but was a bit too truthful for Stevie and suggested that Layla should increase her fluid and salt intake. This video went somewhat viral (at least more than the previous ones) so the comments are full of spoonies complaining about the nhs/doctors in general (I will mention one specimen at the end of this)
2/4: Proof of Layla drinking the electrolyte solution that was suggested for her possible POTS, that’s the video.

I used to have a similar resting heart rate when I was a teen due to a combination of anxiety and being a lazy fuck

As I mentioned the comments
s were full of seething white teenaged spoonie girls, one stood out to me in particular because I’ve seen this type of behaviour on tiktok a lot recently. I didn’t save her name because she’s really just an example of this shit. Basically she makes quite a few videos that hint at her being chronically ill/ she even calls herself chronically I’ll but she won’t for the sake of whatever mention what she suffers from. She does videos showing off her piss bag, claims she passed out for seven minutes and her heart just stopped and she saw the back rooms, these videos obviously cause the most interaction and views and she’s very aware of that. So she makes the most sappy videos possible or splits them into parts where you obviously have to wait and view her account. Questions like "What are your diagnoses? Why are you in hospital?" Are never answered although she responds to everything else, of course no one is exactly entitled to know what she may or may not suffer from but if you make it your whole Internet personality one might expect it being mentioned somewhere. The fact that she was milking this whole thing for clout became really obvious when she made a video about her one day waking with a rash on her décolletage (that looked like chemical burns even to the doctors) and that thing happening over 30 times, she even promised to make a second part to reveal if they found out what caused this but that part obviously never came. I’ve seen this so many times on this hellish app in the last few weeks, illness, accidents, and other traumatic experiences that are often real being milked out for views and likes and I have a hard time feeling compassion for these people, maybe I’m just a psychopath tho idk.
