Okay, but they can still volunteer for those who oppose racism. There are plenty of groups that help marginalized people. And it’s not like Ukraine is much better than the US in regards to racism anyway. I bet they’re worse.

They stopped that policy a couple of days ago because it was hampering operations.
That’s assuming they have a heritage to be proud of instead of using it to call their ancestors uncivilized, uneducated bigots.

I've seen some people criticize being proud of heritage or ancestry, like something you have no control over, but I suppose it is more like being proud of actively continuing traditions and being part of a community. I certainly wouldn't fight a war over it though unless it was my immediate family.
This would be the best gift any of them was ever given - the chance to be alive, even if only briefly, and discover what that feels like. They'll either improve or break, and that's what they need.
