As of July 2022, only a handful of foreigners are actually fighting on the front lines. The "International Legion" appears to have largely been a PR stunt, designed to encourage donations and material support from abroad. Most of the reddit brigade appears to have either never made it to Ukraine in the first place, or ended up doing non-combat volunteer work rather than fighting on the front lines.

Here is a good summary of the current state of affairs: https://harpers.org/archive/2022/07/searching-from-the-ukrainian-foreign-legion/

There are a couple of ongoing PoW cases though, where Brits and Americans were captured by the Russians (or DPR) and are now potentially facing the death penalty.

With Ukraine being overrun by the Russians, they are letting just about any non-Ukrainian join an "International Legion" to defend the country. All it takes is showing up at the Ukrainian border and asking to join up. There are already organized efforts by Swedish and Japanese volunteers to fight Russia. Unsurprisingly, the idiots on Reddit in r/VolunteersForUkraine love this idea, and are organizing travel, making packing lists, and trying to figure out how to effectively communicate their pronouns in Ukrainian. They have a discord, a facebook page, and Twitter in addition to the subreddit. Here is the advice they give to these aspiring soldiers of fortune in a stickied thread:

The general idea for this thread is to collate the "adventures" of these idiots in one place, as the general Ukraine War threads are moving incredibly quickly. Here are a few examples to get things started.

Here, we have a brave Redditor who got all the way to the border, only to realize that Ukraine was full of scary men with neck tattoos who don't speak English, and his mother was sick:

A "U.S millionaire" claimed that he was willing to cover the airfare of volunteer fighters traveling to Ukraine, but a couple days later, we find out that they were effectively ghosted.

Tranny (possible troll) wants to fight, but is concerned about LGBT rights:

People screwing with the Redditors by editing in trannies: (see https://kiwifarms.net/threads/r-volunteersforukraine.113841/page-11#post-11317950):

Only vaccinated cannon fodder welcome:

There is obviously going to be a lot of trolling and larping, but I bet at least a handful will actually make it to Ukraine. Will we get livestreamers getting blown up, PoW arcs, or just a bunch of scammers trying to grift donations?

Love it. No way that tranny is flying out, I smell B.S. from across the other side of the world.
'Private you have to move!'
'But my 4x dilating schedule is coming up sir!'
Who in their right mind would fight for Ukraine, wars are inevitable and everyone loses.

Too bad Redditors are useless and never do what they claim to be very invested in, them getting themselves killed by running into artillery bombardments thinking it will awaken their Marvel-Superhero powers would bea favor for the whole world.

I hope any faggot redditard who actually goes gets violently raped and left in a frozen ditch, and that it's filmed so people can point and laugh.

For the uninitiated, ukr government is fucking insane and supplied it's citizens with arms without any requirements. It already led to such hilarity as bands of marauders, raids against each other on the premise of "they are definitely saboteurs"(they even killed one ethnic jew since they thought he was chechen), random shootouts and of course, shots being fired at ukrainian army forces, leading to casualties on both sides. If any of those soycucks actually finds his way to the warzone, they've got all the chances to get killed even before they meet any russian troops.
