This makes me truly MATI. Opiate addiction leads to questionable decisionmaking, and her sobriety date being at age 16 means that she was actively an addict while starting to transition and take testosterone. She would have been incredibly vulnerable and sad. I wonder how she was medicated after such a horrendously painful surgery…I wouldn’t think buprenorphine would touch that pain.

They don't like their breasts. (Not all fall into this. Just a theory.) They're heavy, big size bra shopping, shoulder and back pain. Can't buy the cute small colorful ones.
But to get breast reduction surgery you have to jump through fucking hoops. But you want them removed outright? Just troon out.
Maybe if we offered corrective plastic surgery for young women that improved their self image and comfort in their own bodies it might stop some of the total destruction we see now.

She says 5' 1". That's 16th percentile for Female Americans (and even lower for predominately white countries) so pretty short. I imagine going on Testosterone so early would've fucked her up as well.

Funny thing, though: natal men at around this age (and older) are just as driven to get surgically-implanted erectile prostheses, and they've got the money to throw at it.
