I feel pretty bad for people like the kid who wrote this post who struggle with severe emotional problems and don't know where to turn to. My contempt is for the people who act as leaders in this whole thing, telling mentally unwell people not to listen to therapists and getting hormones online, abusing women for not feeling comfortable playing along, etc. Abuse often comes from a place of pain, but that doesn't excuse it.

(the music video features him as a 1930s sambo with similar depictions of others) and the work of the artist Kara Walker, and largely complains that Cuphead, by stripping away the racist depictions of the era from the art style, decontextualises and white washes it - it should be subverting the art form by commenting on its depictions of black people and critically analysing it.

Except Chad & Jared Moldenhauer are white. Can you imagine what would have happened if they'd decided to make an "artistic commentary" on the cultural baggage of Fleischer cartoons by putting one of these characters in it:
