There was absolutely no reason for the trans crab to be 'out' in that scene. It didn't even make sense for it to be concerned about being 'out' because a) this is a universe full of diverse aliens with all sorts of weird physical & behavioral differences. No one is going to care about one crab being different because it has no significance to anyone, b) there wasn't one instance anywhere in the book of the crab experiencing discrimination from anyone, so there was no reason to expect discrimination now, and c) they were already publicly out and accepted by their inner circle. Coming out to strangers had no personal stakes at all. It also had no bearing whatsoever on the rest of the mission. We don't even see the crab in any social situations during the heist, so it means nothing.

It's a perfect encapsulation of how terrible his writing skills are. Even the most corporate, zero effort writers at least try to reinforce their shoehorned woke nonsense with some rudimentary character building, even if it is utterly pathetic and two-dimensional. Tertiary characters behaving bigoted for no reason, hackneyed analogies with contemporary social struggles, anything.

Rick chose to insert a trans coming out scene into his narrative but nothing in the story makes it even remotely logical. Not the general setting, nor the specific local setting; not the relationships between the main characters or, hell, anything even relating to the mind, backstory or personality of the actual character xerself. Pat wanted to have a tranny character because he thinks it's what you do, but he's so inept at writing that it comes across like a parody of tokenism.

To borrow a term from another gurgling twitter retard who uses his spouse's money and his own circlejerking with the right figures in tech and media to get "special status" on both twitter and within media outlets despite how blatantly scummy and crazy he is, PattyCakeFattyCake likely has access to some SFWA/Tor "backchannel" of sorts which enables him to have a janny on call to unban him/ban his enemies on the slightest and thinnest pretext and to generally shield him from being beholden to the same standards that get applied to people who are not in one of the in-crowds.

This is possible but it doesn't explain how obvious imposter accounts like "NIGGER NIGGER Tomlinson" have stayed up for days or even weeks, with Piggy Boy spamming every comment they make with his Report and Block demands. That behavior isn't congruous with a man who has insiders on a speed dial.

The more likely answer is that Twitter Support is an overexhausted administrative clusterfuck operated by bots and bottom feeding jannies, and that it's actually quite easy for them to unwittingly fall into a ban/unban cycle if both parties doing the reporting are equally stubborn enough.
