It has been said already, but Ethan has too many enemies. How is he supposed to harass & threaten all of these people? He doesn't have the money, time or personal army for it. How many articles completely owning the alawgs can he write? Ethan's body is already suffering how much longer can he actually keep it up? He's incapable of thinking ahead, he's a creature of pure impulse and pettiness.
Calling Jade fat was the cheapest of shots so of course he would take it, but it just ended up making him look like a even more of a completely braindead asswipe considering a) she's in much better shape than most if not all of the women Ralph's been with, let alone him, and b) her last interaction with him was a friendly tweet sincerely wishing him the best.

He doesn't have the capacity of seeing how every single thing he does in an attempt to make others look bad just makes him look worse in return. The fact that there are still people that genuinely look up to him is absolutely baffling.
