I have wondered before if it wouldn't nip at least some of this nonsense in the bud – at least with the zoomers – if more parents responded in this manner to their kid's big "coming out" reveal... but as a farce. In other words, the kid proclaims that he/xe/it/them is trans and instead of the parent freaking out, they show minimal reaction. About a week later, the parent goes to the kid and thanks them for having inspired and awakened the parent's own ~gender journey~.

The parent announces their new pronouns to the kid, basically co-opting the kid's whole schtick. The parent dyes their hair blue, starts dropping copious amounts of dumb gender slang, and are real sticklers about their new pronouns with the kid. Basically they outperform whatever insanity the kid is serving up, and ultimately... embarrass the tran out of the kid?

I don't know, just an idea.

Here is one on epigenetics. To be fair, this one is interesting as troons as desperate for any research showing that their identity is innate. Note the words 'implicated'. If true, it shows that gender dysphoria is actually a mental illness and that you weren't born the right way.

This one on traumatic brain injury references other studies on heritability on transgenderism. Gives estimates as high as 47% in girls.

Every person has a gender identity. Children typically become aware of gender between the ages of three and five (Ruble et al. 2007). The terminology used to describe one’s gender identity is rapidly evolving and includes man, woman, pangender, agender, bigender, genderqueer, and androgyne, among dozens of additional descriptors. Often gender identities are classified into “cisgender” and “transgender” umbrellas. Cisgender is used to refer to a gender identity that matches a person’s sex assigned at birth (i.e., sex determined by examination of genitals at birth, or through genetic testing). Transgender refers to a gender identity that differs from the sex assigned at birth. The term “gender minority” is used by the NIH to refer to transgender populations as well as those who do not consider themselves transgender but whose gender identity and expression vary from traditional, societal, or cultural norms.

Ideological capture is real. 'Cisgender' was never used until 2014 or so.

They later admit there is no strong genomic data to support these heritability estimates; only GWAS can do that. GWAS was done for homosexuality and showed it to be heritable at rates of 12-22%.

Here's another revealing bit.

Emerging literature suggests that biomedical research can play an important role in reducing stigma by reducing blame among medical professionals and lay people (Dar-Nimrod and Heine 2011; Hoyt et al. 2017; Phelan 2005). However, opinions among ethicists and community members about the relative merits of employing “born this way” arguments to reduce stigma against gender minorities vary widely. In a recent article in the American Medical Association Journal of Ethics, Drs. Powell, Shapiro, and Stein criticize strategies that seek to advance equality for gender minorities by characterizing gender identity as “immutable, innate, and not chosen” as “vulnerable to attack on several grounds, including on the basis of emerging scientific data” (Powell et al. 2016). Instead, they argue for the adoption of a human rights framework to advance transgender equality (Powell et al. 2016). We agree that a biogenetic educational campaign should not replace a human rights framework, and propose that these two are not mutually exclusive.

You can't argue from a place of genetics, you need to argue from a 'just so' perspective. That is how gay marriage was won: after all, when it was achieved, 'Born that Way' was conveniently forgotten.

What you cannot argue from a biological standpoint - like race or sex - you need to make up. That's what these papers do.

Given the contribution of heritable factors to variation in gender identity, several studies appeared in the past decade focused on individual candidate genes. Most candidate gene studies have focused on sex-hormone receptors, such as androgen and oestrogen receptor genes, or genes involved in sex hormone pathways. To date, no conclusive associations have been identified [for an overview of candidate-gene studies in gender identity see (Fisher et al. 2017)].

The summary is the best though. They want this research but can't do it because the trans community would rage. Why? Genomic/biological explanations for their narcissistic rage would give way to peaking material; everyone would become a TERF. They don't want that. They want women to accept male delusions and medicalize gender non conformity. Arguing that 'enbies' need testosterone - while AMABs only need to wear makeup - has nothing to do with science. The papers referenced above have nothing to do with transgenderism per se, but how gender interpretation is heritable.

Lockhart is studying for his PhD, and it will involve 'biological essentialism.' This is his Uni website. While his thesis is geared around the abolition of sex itself, he published a paper on Women in STEM. One has to wonder what he means by that. This paper doesn't so much as use actual sources than personal accounts and authoethnographies. Mentions Larry Summers in the first paragraph.

Here is his position on TERFs.

In terms of evolution, your purpose in life is to pass on your genes, and to do that you need to find a suitable mate of the opposite sex. Animal species that could easily distinguish between the sexes would have a distinct evolutionary advantage over the ones that couldn't.
