Yeah, in my experience the workplace snitches tend to fall into one of three main categories: the hyper energetic brownnose who is wanting a management job, the lazy bums who want to draw the attention off their own perpetual laziness or ineptitude, or the genuine Karens who just think they are there to police and enforce arbitrary rules to actualize their own sense of authority.
It was my wagie experience that only one of those groups of people actually worked and they were vastly outnumbered by the amount of people who would get bitched out for taking too long to clock in etc and would act like a fucking CI by offering up another rule breaker just to get management off their own asses.

Pretty much. Humanity has all these laws, norms, and expectations as a society to keep things peaceful, understandable, and moving forward; and people in power act like their best interests are for the collective, but at the core people are animals with the primal desire to dominate and pass on their legacy just like all other animals. Like even if you don't believe that Presidents can do anything to directly change the course of an economy, at least Trump was telegraphing an economic boom, both with his statements and policy? And public confidence in the admin and economy is a good part of the game.
Whatever societal trust is left is gonna be gone by the end of this.

Happiest day of my short stint at a call center was when IT screwed security so badly that a bunch of reports to management got dropped on the company-wide share.
