Something is off about his story. For those unfamiliar with Sonic, it’s a drive up fast food place where you park and order. Each parking space has a kiosk with a menu and speaker where you order. They all have credit card slots so you can just pay after ordering while you wait for your food. Why would they even need to see this guy’s card unless the reader was down? Does he ever explain that?

Lots of Sonics also have a drive through window where you hand the card over like at normal fast food.
